Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JOURDAN LEWIS: Michigan, 5100 188 4.57. Three-year starter from Detroit, MI. Has recorded 30 starts of 48 games played. He capped his career with a first-team All-Big 10 nomination, won the Big 10 Defensive Back of the Year Award, and was a Jim Thorpe Award finalist. Doesn’t always look comfortable in his pedal and will want to get out of it way too early. Stays square in press and is very patient with his foot quickness. Appears to be a better press coverage guy than an off coverage player. Looked better in the Senior Bowl when he was asked to press bail than when asked to pedal. A match-up corner who spends some time in the nickel position. Good fits versus run zones. Matches up with slot receivers well. Competitive and overly aggressive. Quick twitched and explosive. Good instincts. A gamer who outplays his tool set. Easy change of direction and burst from the top of his breaks. He can read routes and make his break before the receiver does. Very ball productive. Will stick his nose in the action as a run defender. Doesn’t hesitate or play afraid because of his small stature. He can be jostled by a big receiver and thrown off balance. Protective of his outside shoulder which leads him to be beaten inside a times. Question decision making stemming from overconfidence. Has an off field red flag hanging over his head. Lewis had an ultra-productive career and seems to be ready for an NFL role week one. His abilities are best suited to defend the slot because of his seamless transitions out of his breaks and ability to cut off routes. If he gets matched up against bigger receivers, he can be pushed around easily. However his performance inside could be top tier. Senior Bowl notes: A good overall athlete with foot quickness and fluid hips. Had a good week mirroring and tracking wide receivers in man coverage. Solid ball skills with good short area quickness, reactions, and timing to slap the ball away from the receiver. Gets a little grabby down the field. Inconsistent tackler. 2016 stats: 25 T, 2 INT, 11 PBU. BTR:left 4.80, right 4.86. OSR:26/ 35. Second/third round. (A-31 5/8, H-9 1/4, VJ-34.5, SS-4.38).
