Ourlads' Profile:

2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE: LSU, 5072 207 4.58. Junior entry, one-year starter, Baton Rouge, LA. Was the Tigers’ second leading rusher in 2018 before putting together one of the best seasons at the position in LSU history. The first-team All SEC back, team MVP, and Paul Hornung finalist led the SEC in touchdowns with 16 and was second in the conference in rushing. Is a versatile threat who carries his ability to make defenders miss into both the running and passing games. He really turned it on when the lights shined brightest, showing his hunger and ability to create something out of nothing routinely. His lack of height is actually a weapon. He is a rock on contact with thick legs and bruiser mentality. An ideal complement to a backfield that already has a back who can contribute 10-15 carries per game. Short runner who runs even shorter. Plays low to the ground with a natural squatter’s build. Can short step his  way to the line before exploding north off both feet. Misses a lot of contact with his ability to anticipate and react to the tackler’s lunge. Will twist, turn, spin, juke his way out of tackle. A slippery target for defenders. Runs with a physical style and won’t shy from lowering his shoulder into a pile with his feet chopping. Has a nose for the end zone when he gets the ball inside the 5-yard line. Caught 55 passes in 2019, many of which were away from his body. Can snare it with his hands and get north right away. A try-hard blocker who moves his feet after contact well. Lacks staying power against straight ahead contact. Will be taken down by a lone defender on initial contact too often. Has had multiple concentration drops. Needs better ball security, will handle it low and away from his body at times. Vision between the tackles seems limited. Will spend too much time looking for lanes rather than taking what is there. 2019 stats: 1414 yds, 6.6 ypc, 16 TD, 55 rec, 453 yds, 8.2 ypr, 1 TD, 10-214 KOR, 21.4 avg. OSR:21/33. Third/fourth round. (A-29, H-9 5/8, BP-15, SS-DNP).
