Three-year starter, Bend, OR. Played in only two games in 2022 due to knee injury. Has a rare combination of size and speed that will make him a major mismatch at the next level. A towering tight end with a skinny torso and long, muscular arms. Played both inline and in the slot during college career. Exceptional athletic ability helps him win in a multitude of areas. Quick burst off the line-of-scrimmage and shows elite acceleration using long strides to blow past defenders on the second and third levels. Top-shelf foot speed matches with great change-of-direction and hip fluidity makes him a vertical threat who can run the whole route tree. Will also create separation utilizing his mental processing ability by reading and attacking holes in zone coverage. Physical at the catch point, and his ability to highpoint passes with timing and rare length help him excel in contested catch situations. Great body control to adjust around his frame, and will secure the catch with soft hands at the catch point. Can create solid yards-after-contact by leaning forward and stretching out. As a run blocker, will win versus nickels and defensive backs using foot quickness and agility to climb rapidly. Will shoot his arms when engaging to snap back defenders at the first level. Most weaknesses are due to his blocking ability. Fringe ability to create push at the line-of-scrimmage, needs to bulk up to be a consistent factor in this area. Needs to work on lowering his pad level as a run blocker. When he lands his hands outside upon engagement, needs to work them inside to win leverage. Knee injury is a concern.
