Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about STANTLEY THOMAS-OLIVER III: Florida International, 6003 192 4.50. Two-year starter, Punta Gorda, FL. Second-team All-Conference USA in 2019. Was a productive wide receiver as a freshman before converting to corner as a sophomore. Plays hard corner Cover 2, press man, plus off man and zone. Has length for the position and uses it to re-route receivers in press and hard corner. Uses a step up technique in Cover 2 and is effective disrupting receiver off the line. Quick to process route combinations in zone, he balances routes and can close void areas. Sudden break on the ball on short throws in front. Uses his length effectively to break up passes. Physical in press man, shows an off-hand jam on turn and run. Stays in phase on vertical routes. Flies downhill in run support and can make some splash plays. Takes on blocks straight on but angle blocks give him trouble. Will over or under run a tackle at times. As a man defender has trouble with lateral transitions reacting to route breaks. Some hip tightness in turn and run. He often finds himself playing from behind. Some trouble finding the ball in phase. He is a work in progress as a corner and a team willing to develop his raw tools will take him late. Shrine Bowl notes: Physical in press. Quick working downhill reacting to plays in front of him. Flashed ball skills getting hands to the catch point. Some hang up in transition. Was grabby on route breaks early in the week. Will bite on a double move at times. Was often in position to make plays but had trouble locating the ball. 2019 stats: 54 T, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 8 PBU, 2 FF, 1 INT. OSR:19/ 29. Seventh round/PFA. (A-31 1/8, H-9 5/8, VJ-34, SS-DNP).
