Two year starter. First team All-SEC and second team AFCA All-America in 2023. Ideal height and length for a corner. Athletic with a combination of fluid hips and quick reactions. Started his career as a safety with some work in the slot. Made a remarkable transition to corner and is still considered an ascending player. At his best in press coverage, he can be physical at the line disrupting the release. Very sticky in man coverage he’s adept at mirroring route breaks giving very little throwing window throughout the route. Shows patience in press and ignores the first move away from leverage and consistently maintains inside leverage in man coverage. In off coverage he shows a quick pedal with excellent footwork in transitions. Turn and run is effortless and he has the speed to stay in phase up the field. Incredibly sudden reacting and breaking on the ball. As a zone defender, adept at reading the quarterback’s delivery key anticipating the throw. Solid ball skills he can locate the ball in phase and get to the catch point. Can go up and get interception opportunities. Aggressive working downhill in run support or reacting to hitch and bubble screens. Length and size show up tackling and he can make big hits along with solid wrap and drive. Still a work in progress in zone coverage but has improved. Tends to get tunnel vision at times balancing multiple routes. Can be slow to close voids between zones and see threats coming from inside or across the field. His cushion can be inconsistent, as at times he’ll be too tight or transition too soon allowing underneath completions. Still developing, but there’s a high ceiling with elite tools and skill to work with. Could be one of the first corners off the board.
