Ourlads' Profile:
2015 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about DAVID COBB: Minnesota, 5107 229 4.76. Two-year starter from Killeen, TX. The ex-Golden Gopher doesn’t pass the eye test with a chiseled NFL caliber running back body, but he moves the chains. Runs with good body lean and pushes the pile when fighting for a first down. Not a primary receiver, but caught the ball well out of the backfield during Senior Bowl practices and finished his runs. He is quicker than advertised and decisive on his cuts. A power runner who will blast through arm tackles. Plays with a strong base in pass protection and will mirror rushers up the field past the quarterback. A physical downhill north/south runner who presses the hole and breaks through to the second level. He makes the tough two and three yard runs. Drives his legs on contact to push the pile. Was the feature back in a run oriented offense. Squares his shoulders and butts his way into the end zone. The burly runner thinks on his feet, can improvise and cuts off his blockers. He displays savvy vision and cutback ability with quick upfield acceleration. Lacks long breakaway speed and a top tier running back tool set. Needs to clean up some technique issues as a pass protector but is a willing and physical blocker. 2014 stats: 1626 yds, 5.2 ypc, 13 TD, 16 rec, 162 yds. OSR:26/34. Quad strain on first 40 at Combine. Sixth/seventh round. (A-31 5/8, H-9 3/8, BP-17, SS-DNP).
