Ourlads' Profile:
2016 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ZACH SANCHEZ: Oklahoma, 5107 185 4.55. Junior entry. Three-year starter from Keller, TX. Uses shuffle back pedal technique in most coverage and has quick feet. Inconsistent with pedal. At times gives up too much cushion and other times not enough. Oklahoma plays a variety of coverage so he has experience in off man, press man, deep outside coverage and hard corner. Fluid hips with smooth turn and run. Has the speed to stay with a receiver deep. Mirrors cuts well in man coverage and is good in plant and drive. Very good ball skills with the ability to break on the throw and high point the interception. Vulnerable to double moves as this shows up in press coverage, zone, and off man. He will bite on the first move too easily. When in a press a quick outside move by a receiver can get him inside on the next step. Normally has good zone awareness but is not always in the right spot as a short corner between two routes. Has “nervous” feet at times causing him to drift out of position. Inconsistent reading the quarterback release in zone and is vulnerable to giving up too much room on a route. Not good taking on blocks and is bounced around too easily on stalk blocks. A willing tackler but will miss and get run over at times. Has solid corner skills. 2015 stats: 45 T, 7 INT, 7 PBU. BTR:left 4.60, right 4.59. Medical exclusion at Combine. Second/third round. (A-31 3/8, H-9 3/8, VJ-35.5, SS-DNP).
