Ourlads' Profile:
2015 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JEREMIAH POUTASI: Utah, 6051 335 5.32. Junior entry from Las Vegas, NV. Three-year starter. Two years at left tackle. Big, long, stout, and physical. An ascending player who improved weekly from the start of the year. He struggled with footwork and speed early in 2014. Took poor angles to second level linebackers and was slow reacting to twist stunts. Was also beat inside by a blitz and gave up some pressures. By the end of the year he was more patient and aware of what he was seeing. Moves his feet well for a big man. Poutasi has raw power. When he bends his knees he anchors like an oak tree. He demonstrates a stunning punch as a pass protector and should improve because Utah is a run-oriented team that majors in quick short passes. He plays on his feet. Adjusts well on the run. Impressive block on the corner support versus Michigan where he pancaked the corner and the wide receiver ran for a touchdown. Comes off low in the run game with a flat back which is impressive for an angular tackle. Uses his big hands and long arms well in pass protection. Can block the edge with his lateral foot quickness. Poutasi stands out as a long-armed physical player who can anchor. Moves his feet and can mirror a defender in pass protection. Good initial quickness off the line of scrimmage. When he plays square and with a good base he is tough to beat. Will get his shoulders turned to the sideline at times and has a breakdown in pass pro technique. Would like to see him consistently finish his blocks better and elevate his consistency in his overall game. Has all the tools to be a long time right tackle or offensive guard. OSR:23/41. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 7/8, H-9 1/2, BP-26, 10-1.86).
