Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about CHARLIE HECK: North Carolina, 6077 309 5.15. Three-year starter, Kansas City, MO. Finished his career as a second-team All ACC tackle. Has plenty of experience on both sides and shows the intelligence and natural ability to play both left and right tackle. The son of Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line coach, Andy Heck, Charlie has the look of an eventual starter once he can enhance his staying power and core strength. He is outstanding off the ball but simply needs to clean up his hand placement and footwork that usually stems from his inconsistent pad level. A solid swing tackle for a team needing to add depth. Athletic build with minimal bad weight. Has the frame that will easily handle more bulk over time. Gets out of his stance clean and crisp. Can take on contact, has quick twitch that will translate to power. Makes hard contact with his target. Has the capability to bend well at the knees and ankles. Smart player. Has the athletic ability to stick with speed up the edge. Will bail on his technique too often. Doesn’t trust his own ability, lacks confidence and consistency with his techniques. Will get beat inside off the ball. Over sets to his outside and has a hard time shifting his weight back in. Needs to widen his base and will need time to strengthen that base. More of a mental forecaster than he is a physical reaction player. OSR:22/41. Fifth/sixth round. (A- 34 1/8, H-10 1/4, BP-21, 10-1.84).
