First-team FCS All-America and first-team All-NEC along with NEC Defensive Player of the Year the past two seasons. Productive at the FCS level. Primarily an edge defender in college he got most of his reps as an inside linebacker at the Shrine Bowl and projects as a conversion to an off-the-ball linebacker. High effort player who is physical attacking blocks and plays with second effort working to the ball. Gets separation on blocks and can shed on the move. Chases across the field and can close in the backfield. Solid tackling skill with knee bend and leg drive. Limited off the ball has shown ability to drop in the flat and react on the throw. Solid pass rusher with a bull rush into a move. Keeps his feet moving and can squeeze a blocker to the quarterback. Second effort gets him off blocks. Off the ball at the Shrine Bowl he showed some aptitude to play inside backer and his hustle and chase ability was on display. Will be a work in progress. Lacks a sudden first step and some movements are segmented. Solid productive effort player that will get a shot as his effort and production can’t be ignored. Shrine Bowl notes: He struggled some early but improved as the week went on and was effective. Showed short space agility and flipped his hips in coverage reacting to pattern pressure. Used his hands to take on blocks and had some nice run fits. Displayed pass rush ability in one-on-one drills. 2019 stats: 60 T, 20 TFL, 9.5 sacks, 4 PBU, 8 QBH, 3 FF, 2 FR. Not invited to Combine. Sixth/ seventh round. (A-32, H-10, BP-DNP, SS-DNP).
