Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TYREKE SMITH:

Ohio State, 6033 254 4.80. Three-year starter, Cleveland, OH. Earned second-team All-Big 10 honors last fall. Did not tally a notable number of sacks throughout his career (seven in 40 games), but he consistently pressured the quarterback. His active, passionate style of play and length should get him a look toward the back end of a depth chart in a 4-3 front early on. Can fill in as a pass rush specialist and backup while he spends the necessary time strengthening his lower body power and strength to be a more complete player in time. Long-armed, twitchy, and aggressive edge presence that will bring the fire snap after snap. Fast to get his hands on with a solid lockout game. Will control the initial engagement with a low pad level and knee bend. Plays a nasty, feisty game that creates a sense of slip and slide to the blocker. Hits his points and can play with a plan. Feet and hands play in sync with each other. Coachable athlete with the tools and toughness to maximize his potential. Does not have the burst or next gear to scare a blocker on to his heels. Rush moves look overly manufactured and lack a sense of quick fluidity. Loses control the further into engagement he gets. Will lose his sense of gap and special integrity. Poor run defender on multiple levels. Gets pushed around easily.

2021 stats: 26 T, 5 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 PBU, 5 QBH, 1 FF. Edge speed:left 2.52, right 2.09. OSR:21/36. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 1/4, H-10 1/2, BP-DNP, 10-1.66).
