Ourlads' Profile:

2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about RONNIE PERKINS: Oklahoma, 6030 247 4.71. Junior entry, two and a half year starter, St. Louis, MO. An edge defender lining up primarily at defensive end in a five or wide nine alignment. Has played in both a two and three point stance. Flashes first step quickness he shoots his hands into blockers with a powerful jolt. Solid run defender on the edge he can flatten and maintain ball side leverage on edge runs. He can shed with a quick push-pull move. Moves well laterally and can quickly change directions and pursue to the perimeter. Has made some plays chasing across the field. As a pass rusher he shows a club move into arm under and consistently gets around the hip of a tackle. Is fluid and fast to bend and squeeze to the quarterback. Has a closing burst in the backfield. Adjusts well to quarterback movement in the pocket and has made some plays with second effort. Shows an occasional inside counter move but can be hesitant working back inside against a wide dropping tackle. Has some trouble getting too far upfield versus power runs and pulling guards can ride him out. Aggressive style occasionally loses gap discipline and can be vulnerable to misdirection. His lack of ideal length and bulk could project him to a 3-4 outside linebacker. With no pass cover experience he figures as a rush linebacker in a wide nine. His athletic ability may project him in coverage but it’s unknown if he has the aptitude. His best bet is starting as a rotational pass rusher and developing as a rush linebacker or 4-3 defensive end. There have been some off-field issues that caused him to miss games the last two seasons. If off field issue checks out he should go on the second day. 2020 stats: 23 T, 10.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 9 QBH. Third/ fourth round. (A-32 7/8, H-9, VJ-32, SS-4.69).
