Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about KEVIN KING: Washington, 6030 200 4.46. Three-year starter from Oakland, CA. Started 12 games at safety in 2014. Defended 15 passes in 2016. Two-time Pac-12 honorable mention. Long and wiry frame but with easy agility and acceleration. Plays light and fast. Has Gumby-like flexibility. Has an enormous cover radius with his rare combination of long speed, short space agility, and overall burst. Minimal to no wasted motion when asked to change direction. Can stay in his backpedal the extra second and rarely opens up too soon. Can plant that foot while moving at a high speed and seamlessly change direction. Has developed the ability to make plays on the ball by using his length and wrapping himself around the receiver with minimal contact. Very accurate with placement and timing when attacking the ball. Competitive tackler with good range and aggression. Still developing his skill set as a cover corner. Needs to trust his technique more and not be so grabby. Too hands-on. Shows a lack of stability at times. Won’t make the physical impact on contact as a tackler or press corner. Could use more core strength. Has a frame that suggests he could have a hard time taking hits and staying healthy. Plays raw. King fits the mold of what the NFL is looking for in cornerbacks - tall, long, and fast. His top tier ability to change direction and burst is just as attractive. Has had some shoulder durability issues on that slight frame of his, but when he is on the field he proved to be a cover corner on the way up. His skill set is starting to catch up with his elite, top tier tools. Enormous upside. 2016 stats: 44 T, 2 INT, 13 PBU. BTR:left 4.72, right 4.97. OSR:1/35. Second/third round. (A-32, H-9 1/2, VJ-39.5, SS-3.91).
