Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about RYAN RAMCZYK: Wisconsin, 6055 310 5.30. Junior entry from Stevens Point, WI. One-year starter. Sat out the 2015 season after transferring from Division III UW-Stevens Point. Started every contest in 2016 and earned first-team All-Big 10 honors. Has the size with functional strength but has the frame to carry more weight. Plays with good base and balance. Starts at left tackle in a pro style offense and lines up in a three-point stance with his hand on the ground. Drives the down defender with quickness and foot action. Especially good at blocking linebackers at the second level in the run game. A physical long-armed guy with big hands. Quick on back side cut blocks. Pulls with his feet under him and can block athletic corner support. Head on a swivel. Alert. Runs the speed rushers up the field. Effortless switches on twist stunts. Plays square in pass protection. Struggled some versus Michigan’s Taco Charlton with his quick spin move. Very in tune, very coordinated blocker. Smart and quick to react. Can see stunts and blitzes before they occur. Easily slides his way up the edge. Can stop on a dime and readjust his weight. Consistently repeats his quality technique. Struggles to get movement on bigger defenders. More of a finesse blocker. Struggles to recover if he is late out of his stance. Lacks some size and length. Can be exposed when physical pass rushers get to his inside shoulder. In his one season at the FBS level, Ramczyk played at a level that could put him at the top of this year’s offensive line class. Had hip surgery which he will need to prove is healed, but if the medicals check out, the body control, size, and fluid technique are enough to label him a potential week one starter. Medical exclusion at Combine. First round. (A-33 3/4, H-10 7/8, BP-25, 10-DNP).
