Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about MARQUIS HAYNES: Mississippi, 6023 235 4.68. Three-year starter from Jacksonville, FL. Had considerable playing time as a freshman. Slender build. Primarily a defensive end but will most likely get a look at outside linebacker. Sudden first step at the snap with speed to get around the corner as a pass rusher. While not big, uses his length to land a quick strike with his hands to get separation on blocks. Shows good range as a chase player. Tackles well and can make plays in space. At his best as a pass rusher with good lean to get leverage on a pass blocker. Has a burst to close and enough change of direction to adjust to a quarterback stepping up. Playing the edge run he can get upright and locked on a block. Lacks lower body power. Inconsistent with shed versus the run. Will at times show limited pass cover experience but showed well in zone drops at the Senior Bowl. Has enough speed to be a factor on special teams. He has 3-4 tools but will need a lot of work to become an outside linebacker in the NFL. He should have a future as a sub package pass rusher while he develops. 2017 stats; 45 T, 11 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 5 QBH, 3 FF. Edge speed:left 2.11, right 2.08. OSR:14/23. Sixth/seventh round. (A-33 1/4, H-10, BP-23, SS-4.45).
