Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JOSH JACOBS: Alabama, 5100 220 4.55. Junior entry from Tulsa, OK. Played in a rotation. Brings an old-school approach to the game. In an era where the passing game and finesse style has become prominent, Jacobs has proven that the physical running game still trumps all. There is a no-nonsense style to his rushing plans in that he wants to get the ball and run over anyone who crosses his path. Plays like he has something personal against the defense and combining that with elite lower body strength and pop, it is a style that works. Jacobs rushed the ball just 251 times in his college career so while he does lack some experience, he pretty much enters the league with as much fuel in the tank as any running back in the class. The Alpha Male. Plays with a boxer’s mentality and would much rather run through you than around you, even if it meant less yards. Tremendous power and strength that stems from a well developed lower body. Elite north-south runner that only needs a few yards to gain enough steam to blow through tacklers like a train running into cars. Has run-away speed in the open field, tough to catch from behind. Will plant his foot and make the 45-degree turn with explosion and violence. Makes defenders think twice about approaching him head-on. A true pile-pusher. Will run high at times and neglect the strength he can get from his legs. A little too slow to make decisions in traffic. Needs to make quicker reactions and decisions. Feet get caught up in traffic and will go down on initial contact. 2018 stats: 640 yds, 5.3 ypc, 11 TD, 20 rec, 247 yds, 12.4 ypr, 3 TD, 14-428 KOR, 30.1 avg, 1 TD. Did not work out at Combine. Second/third round. (A-31 5/8, H-10 1/8, BP-18, SS-DNP).
