Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about PATRICK QUEEN: LSU, 6002 229 4.51. Junior entry, one-year starter, Ventress, LA. Solid role player and part time starter in 2018. Became a full-time starter last fall when Michael Divinity was sidelined. Made the most of his opportunity. Flashed outstanding ability inside with quick reactions to go with blazing speed in pursuit. Moves well laterally with sudden change of direction. Throws himself into blocks with a powerful strike to separate. For the most part, inside fits were controlled and accurate. Chases from sideline to sideline and has the speed to run down a back on the perimeter. Squares up in the alley and drives through tackles. He has kick coverage skill with his chase and tackling ability. Showed range in coverage and was quick to close voids in a zone and react with the ball in the air. Can cover backs out of the backfield and stay in phase on a vertical route. Solid running the seam with a tight end. More of a lateral reactor than downhill at this point. Will take a bad angle and over or under run a play. Hesitates inline at times and allows interior lineman into his frame. Has some trouble with route combinations in underneath zones and can be hesitant reacting. Occasionally takes a false step that puts him in recovery mode. The LSU scheme allowed him the opportunity to run to the football but he will have to improve shed technique at the next level. Can get stuck on a block. A little undersized for inside but has the upside of a three down linebacker. Outstanding tools but still a work in progress. 2019 stats: 85 T, 12 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 FR, 1 INT. OSR:5/17. First/second round. (A-31 5/8, H-10, BP-18, SS-DNP).
