Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about DAMIEN LEWIS: LSU, 6020 327 5.24. Two-year starter, Canton, MS. Spent two seasons in junior college. A second-team All SEC performer in 2019. Was a mainstay and physical leader of the offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award, given to the nation’s top offensive line. Lewis is the kind of guy you want behind you when walking into a fight. He plays the game with a bully’s mentality and has the juice to back it up. As a run blocker, he can create a new line of scrimmage with his pop out of his stance. As a pass blocker, he will always win the leverage battle but simply needs to refine his footwork and mental approach. Needs some work, but there is a starter here if a team is patient developing him. Built like a rock that produces massive force from his hands. Big, heavy hands that throw cannonballs at defenders on contact. Gets a violent push back that will stand defenders up. Can lock his paws onto the chest of a defender and will make the effort to finish by driving them through the ground. Will stay low and under his man. Tremendous lower body strength and girth. Plays the game like a bouncer at a college bar. Intimidating, relishes his role of protecting his players, and wants to fight. Doesn’t keep his feet moving. Will get stuck in mud while action is moving laterally, causing him to lose balance and play catch up. Ends up on the ground too often. Needs to find and maintain his center of gravity. Will lumber as a space blocker, most notably when asked to pull. Needs to bring his technique and skills up to par with his power and strength. OSR:20/41. Third/ fourth round. (A-33, H-10 1/4, BP-27, 10-1.83).
