Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about SAAHDIQ CHARLES: LSU, 6041 321 5.05. Junior entry, three-year starter, Jackson, MS. Has seen the majority of his action at left tackle. Part of an offensive line that won the 2019 Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line in the country. Will likely make the move inside at the next level where he can immediately become a top tier zone-blocking scheme weapon. His burst and range from his stance will make a difference right away. Not many players his size can move and produce power like him. There are shoulder and maturity issues that need to be screened but if that checks out, he has a chance to be a week one starter. Has the kind of footwork and pop from his feet that is considered rare for the position. Former soccer goalie received multiple Division I offers as a defensive lineman, as he made the transition to the offensive side as a high school junior. Twitchy and quick, which is smoothly transferred to power in engagement. Violent, accurate hands that almost always make contact first. Plays with a low and wide center of gravity. Natural knee bender, seamlessly rolls his hips into the defender and will stand them up. Fiery competitor who plays with desire. Hates to fail, loves to succeed play to play. Doesn’t stay within himself. Gets too jumpy out of his stance and will over set. Makes himself vulnerable to late stunts, twists, and double moves. Goes for an all-or-nothing punch in the run game. Feet will get too wide at times, hindering his strength and ability to adjust. Techniques still look raw as a pass blocker. Has had lingering shoulder issues that hampered his progress and forced him to miss games all three seasons. Has been suspended by the team for undisclosed reasons. OSR:19/41. Third/fourth round. (A-33, H-10, BP-DNP, 10-1.84).
