Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JOSHUA KELLEY: UCLA, 5105 212 4.52. Two-year starter, Lancaster, CA. Spent two years at UC Davis before transferring to UCLA, sitting out 2017. Was honorable mention All- Pac12 in 2018, second-team last year. Kelley has the look of an ideal third down back at the next level. He has wide receiver-caliber ball skills and routes, but also showed the ability to run the ball inside and out in addition to plus-pass blocking effort. Fluid and easy mover with a quick burst and seamless lateral movement. Smooth lower half that can move like he is on ice skates. Lines up out wide at times and can get open like a slot receiver. Shows urgency as a route runner, will reach his point in a hurry and rarely lets one touch the ground. Adjusts late to poorly thrown balls, fully capable and likely to make the acrobatic catch. Will put his head down and burst through a lane. Fast to get the ball and reach his top speed. An aggressive and physical runner, knows when to put his shoulders down and lean forward. Good ball security. Doesn’t seem to be very innovative when the intended lane isn’t there. Too quick to give up on a play and throw himself into a crowd. Doesn’t break enough tackles via late movement or strength. Goes down on initial contact too often. Needs to sustain good contact with blitzers at a higher rate. 2019 stats: 1060 yds, 4.6 ypc, 12 TD, 11 rec, 71 yds, 6.5 ypr, 1 TD. OSR:8/33. Fourth/fifth round. (A-31 5/8, H-9 5/8, BP-23, SS-4.28).
