Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about LEKI FOTU: Utah, 6053 330 5.16. Two-year starter, West Valley City, UT. Second-team All Pac 12 in 2018 and first-team in 2019. Also added a second-team All America honor as a senior. Played just one year of high school football, as he had an extensive and accomplished history with rugby. His physical tool set is rare, as he possesses top tier size and thickness but is still a rather comfortable athlete. For a player this big and athletic, he doesn’t dominate the point of attack. At the very least, he can be a two gap run defender that frees up linebackers and will make the occasional play on the ball. He is a try-hard player that will stick around in the league for awhile, but may never be enough of a pass rusher to be considered an every-down threat. Has the kind of frame that holds a ton of weight with ease. A dense body that is functional with surprising short area burst. Has tree-trunk legs from top to bottom with rare thickness from the knee on down. Can play with a squatty position, butt low and hands high. Fast off the ball with great snap-anticipation. Uses his plus-length with an effective initial punch. Strong anchor against the double team, can play two gaps from the middle. Lacks the second gear after he jumps the snap. Struggles to adjust his weight without extra wasted steps when he recognizes the offense’s intention. Doesn’t offer much of a pass rush. Underachiever as a bull rusher, feet get stagnant. Lower half is inconsistent from a technique perspective. 2019 stats: 28 T, 8 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 PBU, 2 QBH, 1 FF. OSR:8/19. Third/fourth round. (A-34 1/4, H-10 5/8, BP-21, 10-1.72).
