He also has a nose for the ball, leading Texas Tech defensive linemen three straight years in tackles. Shows potential as a bull rusher as well, making him a multi-down threat who can back up multiple spots. Blue collar approach that will drive his heavy hands through the chest of the blocker, take control, and pursue the football. A hustler without an off switch. Plays the role of a bouncer outside a club. Plays with a natural low center of gravity with plus-power and strength coming from his base. Gets off his blocker and will show quality burst and closing speed. Has late quickness when near the ball to make tackles in space. Leaves a dent in whatever he hits. Lacks consistent skills as a pass rusher. Gets a little sloppy with his footwork. Doesn’t handle the double team the way his power should. Lacks the awareness and quick decision making when blockers come at him from the left or right. Will get locked onto if his initial punch is ineffective.
