Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about ALOHI GILMAN: Notre Dame, 5104 201 4.60. Junior entry, two-year starter, Laie, HI. Was a starter at the Naval Academy in 2016 and transferred to Notre Dame the next year. After sitting out in 2017 he started every game the past two seasons. Primarily a box safety he is a high energy chase player who is always around the ball. Often plays at linebacker depth or a few yards behind the linebackers with the freedom to chase the ball. Solid range in pursuit. Gets downhill in a hurry and can slip blocks on the move. When squared up can run through a tackle. Flashes man cover ability and can match tight ends and some slots. Can play the underneath zones. Has lateral agility to react to route breaks in a short space. Breaks quickly on the throw and can get his hands to the catch point. Not as good on the back end as he can lose sight of multiple routes and gets focused on one receiver. Has given up some plays as a result. Notre Dame limited his exposure to deep safety. Can play out of control and overrun the ball at times. Will miss a tackle by coming in high and not gathering. Has outstanding kick cover ability and special teams and sub package may be his shot to make a team. 2019 stats: 74 T, 3 TFL, 1 sack, 2 PBU, 1 QBH, 3 FF, 1 INT. OSR:15/24. Seventh round/PFA. (A-30 7/8, H-9 1/4, VJ-32, SS-4.08).
