Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JUWAN JOHNSON: Oregon, 6040 230 4.56. One-year starter, Glassboro, NJ. Spent four years at Penn State, starting for two years there. Used the graduate transfer rule to play for Oregon last fall. It will be hard to find a receiver as big as Johnson across the board. He is tall, long, and thick with huge hands. A big, quarterback-friendly target who can go up and out to get balls away from his body. He has a bunch of highlight reel catches to his name. However, at the same time, his career was full of maddening inconsistencies as a ball catcher and route runner. There is a chance he could transition to tight end because he already has plus-blocking ability and his frame could handle more weight. No matter where he ends up, he is an upside-based prospect who can be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses especially if he cleans up the holes. Capable of dominating opponents while also flashing elite ball skills. Can go up and get it in traffic, a tough matchup in any 50/50 situation. Will break tackles after the catch, plays a physical brand that also shows up as a blocker. Long strider who doesn’t translate well to getting open underneath. Has had issues with concentration drops throughout his entire career. Has some coordination, balance, and timing issues. 2019 stats: 30-467, 15.6 ypr, 4 TD. OSR:23/51. Fourth/fifth round. (A-34 1/4, H-10 1/2, VJ-33, SS-4.37).
