Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ALEX ANZALONE: Florida, 6030 240 4.64. Started 10 games in his career. From Wyomissing, PA. Career has been checkered by injuries. Has had reoccurring shoulder issues since 2013, most notably an injury that forced him to miss most of 2015. The 2016 season was going well until he suffered a broken arm versus Arkansas, ending his season prematurely again. Played in all 12 games as a reserve in 2014. Athletic with good instincts and speed. Good initial read and react with downhill shuffle. Fits inside gaps well with short space re-direction. Good knee bend attacking blocks and has the ability to strike with his hands and shed quickly. Leverage on blocks and keeps working to the ball. Good range in pursuit and can make plays on the sideline. Good lateral movement with a burst to the alley. Adjusts well to movement breaking down into shuffle from a lateral run to maintain inside leverage. Has a burst to close. Solid tackling skill, makes plays in space. Quick to recover with sudden change of direction. Takes good pass drops. Good break on the ball. Shows man-to-man skill with the ability to mirror cuts and stay in phase with a back or tight end up the field. Solid blitzer with a quick step to the gap and burst to close on the quarterback. Can be explosive. Needs work on technique if blocked. Smallish frame with limited upside for growth. Short arms and it will show up when a blocker gets a clean look at him. Gets swallowed and overwhelmed by quality blocking. Too easily moved. Has big time durability concerns but the tenacious, space-happy linebacker has shown enough to prove he can be a factor when healthy. His performance at the Senior Bowl was a plus. Seems destined for a 4- 3 WILL type role as a backup early. Senior Bowl notes: Played with live legs after coming off injury for the Gators. Was active and played with a high motor. A knee bender with good instincts. Quick to attack, shed, and get to the ball. Showed up well in coverage drills. Helped himself during the week. 2016 stats: 53 T, 4 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 PBU, 6 QBH. Edge speed:left 1.53, right 1.79. OSR:12/51. Third/ fourth round. (A-30 7/8, H-9 1/8, BP-16, SS-4.27).
