Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JAMIN DAVIS: Kentucky, 6040 234 4.48. Junior entry, one year starter, Ludowici, GA. Davis burst onto the scene as a starter after being a solid role and special team player. Long and athletic with some still untapped upside. Has played both as an overhang player and in the box. Uses his length to control straight up blocks with knee bend and a quick punch to separate and shed. Can come off a block and make a play. Deliberate in his read he shuffles downhill and fits inside and off-tackle gaps. Explodes into tackles with gather and finish. Has range in pursuit with good angles to make plays on the perimeter. Has lateral agility and can make plays in space. Primarily a zone defender, he has a shuffle pedal in his drop and gets proper depth. Adept at processing route combinations, passing off shallow routes, and staying in position under intermediates. Tough to throw over in the throwing lane. Has made interceptions and pass breakups with excellent positioning in his drop. Takes solid angles breaking on the ball. While normally in the right place on run reads, he will hesitate at times giving too much room for a ball carrier. His shuffle steps do not always transition to exploding downhill. Not always quick to break with the ball in the air on the short throw. Will take a false step reacting at times. Some of his issues are based on limited playing time. He is still raw and will need time to develop. Has been a quality special team player and should contribute there while he develops. Has the upside of an NFL Will linebacker in a 4-3. 2020 stats: 102 T, 4 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 FF, 1 BK, 3 INT (1 TD). Third/fourth round. (A-33, H-9 1/2, BP-21, SS-NA, VJ-42).
