Ourlads' Profile:
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about DIVINE DEABLO: Virginia Tech, 6033 226 4.45. Three year starter, Winston-Salem, NC. Came to the Hokies as a wide receiver before moving to safety. Ideal size for a box safety he has flashed skill in the deep zones as well as the box. As a deep safety has primarily played quarters but also would rotate to one high at times. Quick to break out of his pedal he is explosive tracking downhill normally taking good angles and adjusting on the move. More of a wrap tackler he will make the occasional big hit dropping a ball carrier in his tracks. Shows the ability to match slot receivers, backs and tight ends on short and intermediate routes. Can cut off route breaks and react to the catch point. Has shown improved ball skills reacting on the throw making several plays on the ball in 2020. At his best in the box making linebacker-like reads in the run game. Can slip blocks on the move and has range to chase across the field. Excellent zone defender reacting to multiple routes and closing voids in zones. Quick to get underneath intermediate routes and break on short throws. He has also been an effective blitzer off the edge chasing down plays in the backfield. Not as good if isolated in deep coverage as hip tightness shows up opening up to the deep outside or turning and running to stay in phase. While an effective tackler, he is somewhat straight line and has had to make some grab tackles as a result. Occasionally plays a little high on blocks and tackling. Improved his versatility in 2020 and has shown more than a box safety. Has also been outstanding on special teams and will add to any teams kick coverage unit. Could project to a nickel linebacker for some teams. 2020 stats: 55 T, 2 TFL, 4 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 FF, 4 INT. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 3/4, H-9 1/2, VJ-34, SS-4.45).
