Has some experience at corner and slot corner but is primarily a safety playing in the box and one and two high. Has size and length for the position with solid athletic skill. Fluid in most movements he is normally quick to process and change directions. Quick in his pedal and transitions. Takes precise angles working downhill and adjusts well to movement. Excellent tackling skill in a short space. He gathers and strikes with knee bend and explosiveness. Makes a lot of plays at the line. Has led the team in tackles 2018 and 2020 and second in 2019. Around the ball a lot. As an over the top safety has good range and can flip his hips to get over the top. Reads pattern pressure well along with seeing the delivery key. Flashes ball skills when in position. Uses his length to find the catch point. Has solid match skill in short areas and can mirror route breaks. Occasionally gets out of phase on deep routes. Speed maybe a question mark. Hesitation in route recognition at times will get him out of position. As a deep safety in space has missed some tackles and has made more shoestring tackles than you like. That said, overall tackling is a strength. Early in his career he had some trouble with double moves matched up but that appears to have been tightened up. He has improved throughout his career and still has upside. He had a little more bulk at the Senior Bowl and had a solid performance helping his cause. He has the tools to play in the NFL. 2020 stats: 66 T, 3.5 TFL, 7 PBU, 2 INT. Fourth/fifth round.
