Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about COLTON MCKIVITZ: West Virginia, 6062 306 5.35. Four-year starter, Jacobsburg, OH. Has played both tackle positions. Two time honorable mention All Big 12 before being named second-team in 2019. Was also named third-team All America as a senior. Has average size and power that will need to be developed over the course of a year or two, but the former all-state high school basketball player has light and quick feet with good balance. Combine that with a strong will to win the one-on-one battles and a case can be made he is one of the top tackles that should be available day three. Needs to improve his lower body power and hand strength, but if he can tidy those areas up he is solid everywhere else. Swing tackle candidate. Tall and wide frame that will hold more weight in time. Plays with a bodyguard’s attitude that likes to get in a fight every now and then. Blue collar approach that lacks some of the ideal tools and ability, but can make up for them with hustle and desire. Does a nice job of keeping his chest up and hands ready. Anticipates the rush well, can forecast what his man is doing. Keeps his eyes wide and active. Has a lot of experience and it shows when it comes to seeing blitzes and stunts. Inconsistent to play with a strong reach or lockout. Struggles to stick his hands to a defender and will be overly reliant on his mirror-feet. Plays too high off the snap and during engagement. Could use more lower body strength and girth. Is found having to re-anchor almost every time he is matched up against a quality bull rusher. OSR:38/41. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 3/4, H-10 1/4, BP-DNP, 10-1.83).
