Arkansas, 6020 225 4.50. Junior entry, three-year starter, Warren, AR. Capped his career by earning first-team All-SEC honors. The versatile offensive weapon fits the mold of a growing trend in the NFL; strong and thick enough to make a difference with the ball in his hands and fast enough to pose as a downfield threat in the passing game. He lined up all over the field and produced from a variety of roles. In addition to his 146 career receptions, he also carried the ball 41 times and returned 12 punts. Simply put, no matter the situation or role, Burks is the kind of player who will create in a unique way when the opportunity is there. His skill set as a route runner and ball catcher are still developing, but the strides he made in 2021 were enormous and showed he has some number-one-receiver upside in him. Thick and well-proportioned frame that plays dense against contact but also fast enough in space. Notably huge hands. Free flowing lower body that shows quality movement in both straight-line bursts and short area change of direction. Excels after the catch with good vision and a sturdy presence. Breaks through arm tackles like he is running through the woods. Not easy to knock him off his intended path. Quality route runner with strong and quick releases. Drops his hips naturally and makes the sharp cuts in and out of his breaks. Excellent concentration on the ball with a defender bearing down on him. Specializes in back shoulder throws where he maintains his body control and strength when he turns backward. Has a lot of gamer in him when he gets near the ball and after the catch. Needs to show more wiggle as an underneath route runner. Has a tendency to be a bit late out of the breaks within the short to intermediate portions of the route tree. Late with his hands at times, will cause drops. Shows a lack of pure, natural explosion when going up for the ball. Plays heavy at times when he needs to adjust to the deep ball.
