Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ANDREW BOOTH JR.:

Clemson, 6002 194 4.43. Junior entry, two-year starter, Dacula, GA. First-team All-ACC in 2021. Versatile physical corner with experience in a variety of coverage including deep outside Cover three and quarters along with hard corner Cover two. Also played off and press man. Smooth quick backpedal and sudden reactions in transition are what you notice first. Maintains cushion in off coverage and changes speeds to match the receiver. Fluid turn and run he stays in phase up the field. Solid zone awareness he has vision to see the quarterback and receivers and is adept at reading the delivery key. Closes voids in zones from a distance with peripheral vision to see pattern pressure. Effective hard corner technique to re-route receiver on a vertical release. Quick to break on the short throw from playing under a deep outside route. Plays press with a sense of urgency using strong hands to disrupt release along with mirror ability on route breaks. Excellent in run support. Aggressive taking on stalk blocks and tracking downhill. Fundamentally sound tackling technique he comes in low and hard and explodes into ball carriers. Secure tackling in space. Occasionally anticipates a cut and is fooled by a double move in man coverage. There are some false steps that create separation. Can get grabby when lost on a shifty receiver’s cut. Has some trouble timing turn and run versus receivers that show quick stop/start movement. False steps show up occasionally working lateral transitions. Can get upright on 90-degree breaks slowing his reaction. Needs to develop consistent man to man technique but he has the tools to develop. At his best as a zone defender with unique run support ability for a corner. Could possibly project to nickel.

2021 stats: 37 T, 3 TFL, 5 PBU, 3 INT. First/second round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 3/8, VJ-DNP, SS-DNP).
