Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about CHRISTIAN HARRIS:
Alabama, 6004 226 4.44. Junior entry, two-year starter, Baton Rouge, LA. All-SEC and semifinalist for the Butkus Award. Athletic prospect with outstanding chase ability and range in pursuit. High energy player who goes all-out in chase mode. Agile in traffic he can change directions easily to make plays in space. Quick to scrape to the edge on off-tackle to outside runs he can beat blocks with quick reactions. Can shoot through open windows to make plays in the backfield. Has sideline to sideline range. Can be physical with blockers with a quick stun with his hands on the move. Explosive tackling skill, he accelerates into tackles and finishes. Has shown excellent blitz skill with anticipation at the snap and a burst to close. Can come off the edge or hit an inside gap. Solid man cover skills he can mirror backs out of the backfield and has occasionally matched a back in the slot. Not quite as polished as a zone defender he will get caught staring in the backfield at times. That said he covers a lot of ground as a zone defender. Has some trouble getting upright on blocks when confronted working to the ball. In his zeal to get to the ball he occasionally runs into blocks instead of gathering and working through the block. Can lose his path to the ball and be out of position as a result. Not as good with the play right at him as he can get driven out. Needs to be more consistent with block protection with better use of hands to shed. Can play a little out of control at times. Has the tools of an every down NFL starting linebacker in any scheme. Will need some development but should be a solid second day pick.
