Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DANNY GRAY:
SMU, 5117 186 4.33. Two-year starter, Dallas, TX. Spent two seasons at Blinn College. First-team All-AAC in 2021. Gray is a former track star who has developed nicely on the gridiron. His speed to the point and ability to change direction will create space for him to work with. That along with his instances on tape that show ability to go up and come away with the ball in traffic will create hype around his potential to be a deep threat at the next level. Needs to solve his issues with drops and it would help for him to add some core strength to be more competitive underneath. Has blazing speed with easy, gliding long strides that have the extra gear downfield. Will track the ball well on vertical routes and make the tough catch. A highlight reel-rich player. Sharp route runner that stems from a mobile, but stable lower half. Can create separation on all layers of the route tree. Shows a fast twitch reaction post-catch to quickly swallow yards with the ball. Drops too many of the easy ones. Lack of play-strength shows up in multiple areas. Can be jostled at the catch point underneath. Needs more core and hand strength. Makes minimal impact as a blocker.
2021 stats: 49-803, 16.4 ypr, 9 TD. OSR:7/33. Fourth/fifth round. (A-31 7/8, H-9 5/8, VJ-34, SS-4.37).
