Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JALYN ARMOUR-DAVIS:
Alabama, 6005 197 4.39. Junior entry, one-year starter, Mobile, AL. Second-team All-SEC in 2021. A former prep 100M sprint champion he has ideal cornerback size and elite speed. Has played a variety of coverage with emphasis on press and off man. Quick in his pedal, he positions well on the receiver's release keeping cushion and timing turn and run as it starts to break down. Consistently stays in phase on vertical releases up the field. Matches route breaks in off-man and is solid at maintaining inside leverage. Keeps his focus on the receiver. Has excellent recovery speed if separated on a route break. Can chase and close on a crossing route. Has a decent burst to close with the ball in the air. Flashes ball skills with leaping ability to get to high throws and the catch point. Flashes tackling skill wrapping and driving. He could gather better to be more secure. Overall agility is average and he shows hip tightness on lateral transitions. Has trouble with quick inside cuts. Has some problems maintaining close hip to hip positioning when in phase on vertical routes. Receivers can separate from him changing their path. He has some trouble locating the ball in phase and needs to get his head around when he has a receiver locked out. In man coverage he gets separated too often giving up room he has to recover. NFL quarterbacks will take advantage of that. He has had some injuries that have cost him valuable playing time. With one year of starting experience his best days should be ahead of him. His size/speed profile and upside should fit in a variety of schemes. Projects well to special teams.
