Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about CORDELL VOLSON:
North Dakota State, 6060 315 5.26. Three-year starter, Balfour, ND. Earned first-team All-MVFC all three seasons in addition to first-team All-America honors twice. Players coming from the FCS level ideally dominate their level of competition in college and that is exactly what Volson did. Competitive pass blocker who did not allow a single sack over his career and rarely even allowed pressure. Did not win with pure athleticism or overwhelming power. He is a smart player with a nice-sized frame and tremendous desire. His tools may not be good enough to stay at tackle in the pros, but he should make it as a versatile backup with a bias toward inside-play. Highly experienced and successful blocker with snaps at both guard and tackle. Has an NFLready frame and natural mass to pose as a future power blocker best suited for a gap blocking scheme. Gets off the ball with fast hands and hips that will do damage when his balance is lined up. Stays square to his man and shows a nice blend of twitch and power in pass protection sets. Does not slide his feet well enough laterally to hack it outside. Heightens his pad level and leaves his inside shoulder vulnerable. Susceptible to a quality bull rush. Needs to improve overall core strength and hand accuracy.
OSR:46/51. Seventh round/PFA. (A-33 7/8, H-10 1/2, BP-25, 10-1.82).
