Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DAMARION WILLIAMS:
Houston, 5100 182 4.50. Three-year starter, Miami, FL. Transfer from Highland Community College (KS) in 2019. Versatile corner with experience outside, nickel and safety. Played outside zone and press and off man. In off coverage has a quick pedal with spacing and timing on turn and run. Shows a sudden plant and drive forward and laterally. Plays up to short routes with a burst. Extremely quick and agile in reactions, he changes directions on a dime. In press he is physical with jam getting underneath the pads and disrupting release. Mirrors well with spacing on receivers and ability to undercut route breaks. Excellent ball skills on short throws he can get to the catch point and has made several pass breaks from a distance. In man has made some plays trailing and undercutting the route. As a safety or nickel over a slot has shown good flat coverage working under intermediate routes and playing up to the short flat throw. Tough in run support, he can slip blocks and explode into tackles. Normally gets square and drives through the ball carrier. Lack of length shows up on occasional misses and broken tackles. Lacks extended speed to stay with vertical routes. Seems to guess at times on route breaks and gets separated. Bigger receivers can give him problems at the catch point. Projects as a nickel or slot corner in the right scheme. Has some physical deficiencies, but play demeanor and quickness give him a shot. Should be able to play special teams.
