Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TY CHANDLER:
North Carolina, 5112 204 4.38. One-year starter, Nashville, TN. Spent four years at Tennessee where he started games all four seasons in a rotational role. Grad transferred to North Carolina last fall where he earned second-team All-ACC honors. He wears multiple hats. Is an explosive-paced back with good vision and breakaway speed, an excellent receiver and blocker, as well as an effective returner. Should make a roster as a bottom-end back on the depth chart but with everything he can do for a team, his odds of being active on game day right away are strong. His body type and lack of push will likely prevent him from a serious amount of carries weekly, but he will be a nice change of pace capable of breaking off big plays. Explosive and ready to pounce at all times. Has the last gear to accelerate away from defenders in the open field. Smooth mover below the waist with easy cuts and turns. Will stay square to the line as he twists and turns the upper body. Shows a solid forward lean and good, natural bend. Has a patient, but aggressive running style that responds to rapid changes in front of him with ease. Has a light foot-presence on the ground, easily altering his intention. Adds quality pass catching and special teams’ presence. Slight build will have a hard time taking on a full load of carries. Too often gets thrown off his point by a lone defender. Needs more push from his lower half. Has thin thighs. Does not always play fast and fidgety up the middle.
2021 stats: 1092 yds, 6.0 ypc, 13 TD, 15 rec, 216 yds, 14.4 ypr, 1 TD. OSR:9/28. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 1/8, H-9, BP-15, SS-4.41).
