2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about BROCK PURDY:
Iowa State, 6005 212 4.76. Four-year starter, Gilbert, AZ. First-team All-Big 12 in 2021. Highly productive career at Iowa State, Purdy has flashed talent in all areas. Effective on the short passing game he goes through his read progression and can find alternates. Makes quick decisions and will take what the defense gives him. Extremely accurate on short and intermediate throws in the middle zones. At his best finding openings in zone coverage. Solid pocket presence he can move laterally to find a throwing lane and escape the rush. Not afraid to take off if nothing is there. Decent runner, he is fast enough to escape and make plays with his feet. Flashed agility and toughness to get extra yards. Not a burner as a runner but can effectively run the run/pass option as a changeup. As routes move outside the numbers or upfield, the ball doesn’t come out as quickly and easily. Has to gather a bit harder as arm strength is average. Velocity goes down the more the play is extended deep outside. Not one to consistently beat man coverage or throw in a lot of short windows. Has a chance to make a team and develop into a solid backup. He does most things well but lacks any outstanding trait. He could fit a number of systems but has limitations.
2021 stats: 292/407, 3188 yds, 71.7%, 19 TD, 8 INT, 238 yds rushing, 1 TD, 149.0 QB rating. Ball velocity 51 mph. OSR:9/9. Sixth/seventh round. (A-29, H-9 1/4, VJ-27, SS-4.46).
