Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAKE HANSEN:
Illinois, 6007 238 4.75. Four-year starter, Tarpon Springs, FL. Second-team All-Big 10 in 2020. Suffered season-ending injury last October. Decent size for the position. Quick to read run/pass and reacts accordingly, and will quickly identify different run schemes to put himself in position to make a play. Solid lateral movement he accelerates quickly in a short space. Able to slip past blockers with a quick stab on the move. Plays primarily in zone coverage where he’s fluid in his drop with proper depth. He reads the quarterback well and leverages his zone with an understanding of route concepts. He gets good collisions on receivers in his zone. Uses solid tackling form when he’s not the initial tackler on the ball carrier. He will target and attempt to strip the ball. In limited reps as a blitzer, shows solid bend off the edge and uses active hands to win. Agility is average and lacks closing speed to consistently get to the perimeter. Is late to the play at times, does not always give full effort in pursuit. Pulls up on the play away at times. Lacks the functional strength and toughness upon engagement to take on and shed blocks.
2021 stats: 33 T, 2.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 QBH, 2 FF. Seventh round/PFA. (A-32 3/8, H-9 3/4, BP-21, 10-DNP).
