Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about CAMERON SUTTON: Tennessee, 5112 188 4.55. Four-year starter from Jonesboro, GA. Holds the SEC record of 37 career passes defended. Experienced at left corner, man and zone. Instinctive and smart student of the game. Trusts his footwork and technique. Good to great slow pedal (read steps), excellent full sequence pedal - slow, fast, lateral run, turn and burn. Opens his hips and gets to his top speed in a nano-second. Easy change of direction. Good fluidity versus double moves. Demonstrates good downhill transition out of lateral run. Shows a tendency to skip fast pedal if he felt or saw a vertical route coming. Minimal wasted time or motion. High points the ball in traffic. Tough and hard-nosed. Short memory. Lack of size will show up when matched against big receivers. Can be beat deep. Marginal tackling mechanics. Lacks a presence as a press corner. Had his consecutive starts streak end in September when he broke his ankle. Fought hard to come back and ended his career on a high note. Has had a very productive career in the SEC as both a punt returner and corner. His lack of size and top end athletic ability will limit him to specific roles, but he can be a reliable backup and slot corner in addition to special teams contributions. As a junior Sutton averaged 18.6 yards on 25 punt returns, returning two for touchdowns. Senior Bowl notes: Demonstrated good ball skills and quick hands to break up a pass. Good short area quickness and timing. Showed the versatility to play inside as a nickel corner. Prone to double moves at the line of scrimmage. Loses leverage on wide receiver at times. 2016 stats: 23 T, 1 INT, 4 PBU. BTR:left 4.58, right 5.00. OSR:23/35. Fourth/ fifth round. (A-30, H-8 1/4, VJ-34, SS-DNP).
