Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JUSTIN EVANS: Texas A&M, 6000 199 4.57. Two-year starter from Wiggins, MS. Second-team All-SEC honors in 2016. Junior college transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast. Ultra-aggressive missile from the defensive backfield. Shows no hesitation in coming towards the action full tilt to take on blocks or meet the ball carrier with bad intentions. Rangy safety with good lateral and deep speed. Fluid hips, light feet, and good burst. Has a knack for finding the action. Near the ball often and knows how to finish plays. Versatile skills and tools. Long-limbed, quick twitched defender who will compete hard for the ball. Will twist, turn, and adjust his body on the fly. Great reaction time. Slight frame that may have a hard time holding up considering his style of play. Will over pursue based on initial reads and often play catch up. Easily fooled by double routes and pump fakes. Misses too many tackles. Needs to control his intentions at times and learn when to tone it down. Evans is an outstanding athlete for the position who will lay the lumber to oncoming ball carriers but also factor in deep coverage. He can wear multiple hats for a defensive backfield, but must show he can do a better job of reading receivers and quarterbacks before he can be relied on. He takes too many false steps for a position that needs to rely on instincts, feel, and anticipation. If he can harness his aggression and add some bulk, he can be a quality starter. 2016 stats: 87 T, 5 TFL, 8 PBU, 1 BK, 4 INT, 428 return yards. Medical exclusion at Combine, right quad. Third/fourth round. (A-32, H-9 3/4, VJ-41.5, SS-DNP).
