Four year starter, Baltimore, MD. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2022. Somewhat under the radar going into last season as he missed all but two games with an injury in 2021. He’s big and lengthy and has rare athleticism for his size. Smooth in transitions he has fluid hips to go with outstanding quickness and agility. Has experience in multiple zone coverage including outside third and quarter. Has limited reps as a hard corner. In man coverage plays both press and off. Can be physical with receivers in press using strong hands to two hand jam and disrupt routes. Will also play a reactive press and off-hand jam on outside releases. Smooth turn and run he stays with vertical and wheel routes and can locate the ball when in phase. He can go up and get it and wins most 50/50 battles. In off coverage maintains cushion with a smooth pedal and times turn and run to stay connected to the route. Shows ability to easily flip his hips to close the void in overlapping zones. Normally does a solid job balancing multiple threats and seeing and reacting to the quarterback’s delivery key. Shows a sudden plant and drive on the ball and has some big hits coming downhill on short throws. Aggressive in run support he can separate from blocks and make plays on the perimeter. Excellent tackling skill he drives through tackles. Can get too physical at times with jam and is prone to holding and interference calls as a result. Eye discipline can be a problem in both man and zone. He can get attracted to one route in zone and create a window for the quarterback. Technique has improved but he will give up leverage at times. The tools are there for a starting NFL corner.
2022 Stats: 38 T, .5 TFL, .5 sack, 8 PBU, 1 BK, 1 INT. OSR:1/30. 1st/2nd round.
