Two year starter, Lake Wales, FL. Dexter has unique length and height for an interior defender. He is a high energy player whose motor doesn’t stop. Shows first step quickness and extreme explosion at the snap. Has a strong lower and upper body and flashes knee bend when engaged. Shows quick powerful hands attacking blocks. Uses his power and long arms to create separation along with the ability to push a blocker back. Can play two gap and anchor double teams or penetrate a gap. Flashes shed ability to come off blocks and make plays along the line. His lateral movement and length make him an effective run defender inline. He’s more than a limited area defender. As a pass rusher he’s mostly a push the pocket player and has been effective creating sack opportunities for edge rushers. That said, his long arms and power give him an effective bull rush that can give him sack opportunities. Most of his sacks are the result of relentless second effort. Shows average change of direction but his motor gets the most out of it. Gives an effort in pursuit and as said he’s more than a space eater but he’s not a dynamic chase player. With his height he can struggle with low blocks but he recovers quickly. Will get high on a block at times especially as a game wears on. Has solid tools to be an effective NFL three technique. Will be somewhat limited but his high energy style of play will be attractive to a variety of teams. His best fit is as a rotational player in a 4-3 scheme.
