Two year starter, Georgetown, SC. First team All-SEC in 2022. Transferred from Georgia Military Junior College in 2021 after a stellar two years there. Lean frame with solid length for the position. Played standup outside linebacker along with a five and wide nine in a three point. Flashes explosive take off at the snap. Can get into the blocker with quick hands and can turn quickness into power setting the edge. Normally plays at a low pad level with solid ankle and knee bend. Can shed working to the ball with outside leverage. Excellent lateral agility he can flatten and get to the perimeter on outside runs. As a pass rusher shows long strides after the snap with speed and agility to turn the corner. Has a quick swipe to knock the blocker’s hands away while working the turn. Adjusts well to quarterback step up and has a closing burst once free. Flashes a quick push pull move and can counter back inside. Effective working inside loop stunts coming off an outside move by a five or three technique lined up to his inside. Outstanding motor and second effort, once free shows relentless effort chasing. Versus the run there are times he’s knocked upright by a powerful blocker and stalemated or washed out of a play. Takes occasional bad angles in pursuit and can over or under run a tackle. Needs to consistently gather and drive through tackles. Needs some development in pass rush as he lacks consistent counter against a skilled tackle. Lacks ideal bulk for a full time defensive end position and has little experience in coverage. He’s overaged but should fit as a developmental 3-4 outside linebacker and rotational edge rusher.
