Three-year starter, Waxhaw, NC. Season was canceled in 2020. Two-time All-Sun Belt. Spent most of his career at right tackle with just a few games worth of snaps at guard and left tackle. A coordinated, plus-athlete with the frame to handle gains in muscle mass over time. He does a lot of the little things right with a heavy lean toward his handwork. The fact he can stay square with a strong latch gives him the high-floor outlook. Re-directs and re-distributes his momentum well. Natural lower body bend promotes his balanced, controlled style of play. Extends his hips on contact. Makes the effort to re-anchor and adjust his hands back inside. Transitioned to center smoothly at Senior Bowl. Physical limitations across multiple areas. Struggles to maintain his ground against power. Gets put on ice skates against NFL-caliber power. Does not show the explosive first step out of his stance. Fails to get across the defender’s chest on reach blocks. Needs refinement with his footwork. Will need time to fully transition inside at the next level and will need to add more presence to his contact before being relied upon as a versatile backup. He may not be ready for the size and power demands of the NFL trenches early on. He needs to fix some of the initial footwork shortcomings as well. Will likely need to transition inside full time where he could be viewed as a starter or versatile backup over time.
