Three-year starter, Carrollton, TX. Two-time All-Pac 12 including first team honors in 2022. An accomplished shot-put thrower in high school, he started multiple games at three different positions in college. Played both tackle spots in addition to left guard. The physical profile and play style credibly support the projection to play both inside and outside. He is explosive and has shown the capability of peppering the feet with plenty of fast twitch. Has the capability to handle the combination of speed and power in the NFL. When he’s up with patience and balance, he checks a lot of boxes. Sudden and explosive burst out of his stance. Gets on his man right away. Excellent lateral mover will get across the three-technique and create movement. Converts speed to power. Plays with a wide, active base that provides a strong anchor. Versatility is a plus and he is a high-effort player. Lacks consistent body control and accuracy. Swings for the fence when he goes after his man. Looks great when he connects but looks like a strikeout king way too often when he whiffs. Abandons his foot techniques too soon. Plays a top-heavy game but does not lock hands onto target. Despite over 40 career starts under his belt, he still has a raw feel about him. Has a hard time finding the line between aggressive and reckless, leading to struggles in sustainment and a lot falling to the ground. He is an ideal fit for a versatile backup role in a zone scheme.
