Four year starter, Miramar, FL. First team All-ACC in 2022. Athletic and highly productive outside linebacker that played a traditional on-the-ball Sam linebacker. Somewhat undersized to play the edge he plays with abandon and a high motor. Quick at the snap he’s adept at anticipating and getting upfield. Outstanding agility and stop start quickness he can redirect on a dime and chase across the field. Excellent range in pursuit. Plays with knee bend and a quick punch he can slip blocks on the move and locate the ball. Adept at inside gap stunts he shows a closing burst once free. Solid cover skill as a hook-flat player he gets depth in his drop and positions well on high low routes. He finds the throwing lane and is quick to break with the ball in the air. Has the speed to cover a back on a wheel route. He tackles well in space, adjusting and driving through tackles. As a pass rusher, wins with a sudden first step and speed turning the corner. Flashes a quick inside counter or a spin move against an overset. His agility allows him to quickly adjust and close on scrambling quarterbacks. Lacks bulk to consistently play against powerful athletic tackles. Has to win with quickness and speed because if a tackle latches on he has a tough time escaping. At times he’s too easily washed out of plays in a five alignment, he needs to be on the move rather than engage the tackle. At his best in a wide nine. He may not have a defined position as he doesn’t have off the ball experience. Someone may see him as a conversion. Size is a limiting factor and his draft status is likely scheme dependent.
