Junior entry, Bolingbrook, IL. Honorable mention All-Big 10 in 2021. Athletic corner with fluid movement skills and transitions. Has played in a multiple coverage scheme that had him playing press and off man along with hard corner and outside deep third and quarter. Can be physical in press man showing a stiff two hand jam to disrupt release. Smooth turn and run he can stay in phase up the field. In off man can quickly pedal or catch and jam on the stem. Has the agility to mirror route breaks. As a zone defender flashes the ability to process route combinations and cover routes in overlapping zones. Solid positioning has caused quarterbacks to look elsewhere. Transitions well in all directions and shows a sudden plant and drive with the ball in the air. Has length and leaping ability to get to the catch point and high point the ball. Willing in run support he shows toughness versus stalk blocks using length to separate from blocks on the move. Has solid wrap up tackling skill. Has some problems with hand placement and footwork. At times gets his hands outside and poorly times his jam. Will lose a step on the turn as a result. Will get separated by overextending on a route break with extra steps. Vulnerable to double moves and tends to get grabby if losing the receiver. Has a habit of looking for the ball when out of phase losing focus on the receiver. As a result has been beaten deep more often than he should. The tools are there for NFL success but needs better discipline and improved technique. Should be a factor on special teams as he develops.
