Three-year starter, Cincinnati, OH. First-team All-ACC selection this past season, honorable mention in 2021, second-team in 2020. An outstanding inline blocker in both the run game and pass protection. Excellent technique as a run blocker landing hands inside with proper pad level to win leverage. Violent at the point-of-attack and is not afraid of contact. Shows elite functional strength to stalemate bigger edge rushers at the line-of-scrimmage. In zone blocking schemes, will wash defensive ends down the line and out of the play. Climbs naturally to second level defenders while maintaining proper leverage to engage. Best in pass protection where he uses a strong base, great hand usage, and quick feet to hold his ground versus edge rushers. Solid burst off the line-of-scrimmage to start off his route. Recognizes coverages and will find ways to exploit linebackers and defensive backs to get open. He has reliable hands as a pass catcher, and will adjust accordingly to underthrown passes. He will win jump passes by timing his jump well and utilizing his big frame and strength to out-muscle defenders for the ball. Leans forward when getting tackled to pick up additional yards. Lacks the speed and athletic ability to create separation from defenders. Needs to work on making sharper cuts to improve his route running ability. Struggles to make catches outside of his strike zone. He will not be a significant yards after the catch player due to his lack of foot speed and acceleration. He lacks production as a pass catcher throughout his college career.
2022 Stats: 32-326, 10.2 ypr, 3 TD. OSR:7/15. 4th/5th round.
