Three-year starter, Spartanburg, SC. Three-time All-ACC honoree, first team in 2022. Recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy after his final season, given to the top blocker in the ACC. A permanent team captain voted on by teammates. Has seen starting action at both tackle spots over his career, predominantly on the left side. Does not have all the prototypical measurables for the outside, although he will come into the league with enough versatility to be able to play inside and/or outside. Has country-strong hands and pays attention to details from head to toe. He rarely gets caught out of position and finishes his blocks via staying attached and keeping the lower body active. A safe and reliable player with good intangibles and enough talent to build from. A move to guard is likely but he could double as an emergency tackle if the situation arises. Feet and hands play in complete cohesion. Keeps stepping on all the ants post-snap and through engagement. Maintains balance and stays square. Strong outside shoulder in pass protection with a sturdy base. Fights to keep hands inside. Effective as he pulls into space. Decisive and trusts his own athleticism. Does not play wide in space and it will likely kick him inside from tackle, the position he played in college his entire career. May not have enough explosion to factor as an inside run blocker in gap schemes. Needs to strengthen the base. Will get caught with his feet too close together. A high-floor prospect who will do his job and get the most out of himself consistently.
